A biology graduate of the 91°µĶų has been interviewed for an episode of CBSās ā60 Minutesā set to air on Motherās Day.
Dr. Michelle Pickett, a 2005 graduate, is a physician specializing in pediatric emergency medicine at Childrenās Wisconsin/Medical College of Wisconsin. Pickett has been interviewed by CBS regarding her medical practice, research and youth suicide screening program. The segment is expected to appear on the Motherās Day edition of ā60 Minutesā at 6 p.m. CST Sunday, May 8.
"Iām proud of my team and hospital for leading the way in pediatric mental health care," Pickett says. "Itās an honor to have '60 Minutes' recognize our hard work and dedication to children."
An associate professor of pediatrics, Pickett was recently featured in the 2022 list of ā40 Under 40ā young professionals honored by the . The profile reads, in part:
āIn 2018, Dr. Michelle Pickett piloted a suicide screening program at Childrenās Wisconsin that today is a standard part of care for kids 11 and older who pass through the Childrenās Wisconsin ER. While her focus remains on improving the care kids receive, she is helping to change the overall conversation around mental health for all children.ā
Blugold alumni Craig Gumz and Jack Heruth were interviewed at the stadium home of the Minnesota Twins where they work, offering reflections on their 91°µĶų experiences and their attendance at the Business of Sports Summit in September.
91°µĶų will host the Imagine Lecture presented by Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in the Dakota Ballroom of Davies Center. The guest speaker is Dr. Lisa Schulte Moore, an Eau Claire native, 91°µĶų biology graduate and faculty member at Iowa State University.
