Prepping for + Attending your Advising Meeting

01
Activate Your 91°µÍø Account AND set up Okta Verify

If you have not activated your 91°µÍø account or need to reset your password, visit . You will need your username and Campus ID, which can be found in your admit letter or application acknowledgment email. After you've activated your account, be sure to check your 91°µÍø email account for information about scheduling an appointment with your academic advisor.

Okta Verify - Information and Important Notes

Okta Verify is 91°µÍø's multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution. It adds another layer of protection to your account and information by requiring an additional step to log in. In addition to entering your password, Okta notifies you whenever someone attempts to log into your account, prompting you to either allow the login or deny it. . To proceed with setup, you should have access to both a computer and the mobile device, usually a smartphone, that you will use for multi-factor authentication.

Important notes when setting up Okta Verification:

  • Please make sure that you're setting up the verification to YOUR personal device (not the device of a parent or sibling).
  • The primary way to authenticate is via biometric screening, however, we also HIGHLY recommend that you additionally consider adding a phone number for authenticating via phone call or text. This is useful if you change phones or lose access to the device.
02
Schedule An Appointment With Your Academic Advisor

All transfer students are required to complete a transfer advising and registration appointment before enrolling in classes. You’ll have the opportunity to meet your advisor, learn how your credits transfer to 91°µÍø and discuss other campus resources.

Once you've been admitted and processed into our system, it can take 3-5 business days for your advisor to be assigned and notified. Advisors will reach out to you first to connect, and then you can work together to schedule an appointment to discuss courses.

Then: if you are having a video call or phone appointment:

  • Please have access to a computer with Internet access, and have all the materials that you were sent from your advisor available for the meeting. (Note: 91°µÍø is located in the central time zone.)

If you are having an in-person appointment:

  • Please contact the Flesch Family Welcome Center at least two days in advance to request a free visitor parking permit: 715-836-2544. The Welcome Center is located at 127 Roosevelt Ave.
  • If you are interested in a campus tour, please contact Admissions at 715-836-5415 or visit .

Please plan on 60 minutes for your advising appointment.

03
Check With Your Advisor On Whether You Need To Take Placement Exams

Transfer students should be notified by their Academic Advisor if placement tests are needed, but it's always helpful to reach out if you're uncertain. Should it be determined that you need to complete Placement tests, more detailed information on the transfer student testing process can be found here.

04
Complete required trainings ahead of your second semester (there are two).

Our Office of Health Promotion on campus hosts two trainings that all students are required to complete in their first semester - failure to complete these trainings by the due date will place a hold on the student's account that prevents them from registering for the next semester, so it's important to get these done early!

  1. Sexual Violence Prevention Training (through CANVAS)
  2. Alcohol EDU (through VECTOR SOLUTIONS)

Stay on top of your email in the first semester so you don't miss a reminder to complete these trainings.
