- ProSem: Kristin Wichert: When the Anatomy Changes, We Adapt – The SLP in Head & Neck Cancer Care

- This two-part course reviews functional changes after head and neck cancer treatment and expands into SLP management for the total laryngectomy population. Attendees will explore typical postoperative and chemoradiation deficits, assessment and intervention needs, swallowing and communication management, and strategies for long-term recovery and interdisciplinary care.

- ProSem: Sarah Schellinger-Social Influences on Speech Perception: Perceptual bias and clinical implications
- TIME: 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

- This presentation will discuss how expectations about social information, such as speaker age and dialect, influence how listeners perceive speech. Additionally, the impact of clinical training on speech perception, in addition to strategies to mitigate the effects of perceptual bias in clinical settings, will be discussed. Results of a series of recent studies on this topic will also be reviewed.
